Owen's Birthday Part II
Here are some really sweet pictures from Owen's actual birthday day. He was very cute when he woke up that morning and was even more excited to open a few more gifts along with some balloons that Aunt Hannah sent to him.
Happy Birthday Owen!
This year for Owen's birthday, it was TRAINS, TRAINS, and more TRAINS! So we thought there was nothing more fitting than getting a real train to come and ride the birthday boy around on his special day.
His party was about two weeks before his actual birthday in hopes of warm weather for an outside party. But, as you would guess, it was pretty chilly. But, we all prevailed through the cold weather and a had a great time even through the cold temperatures. As for the birthday boy . . . he had a blast, warm weather or not. If you could have only seen his face when the train showed up. He was the first one on and the last one off an hour later. He never got off once and stayed on for every ride. It was perfect.
We had a great day and were so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful family and friends. And, it is still hard to believe that our little guy is now two and big enough to do things like this. The older he gets the faster it seems to go. The first year seemed like seven years in itself just watching him grow, learn to walk, eat on his own, and many other wonderful simple things. Time almost stood still and I just soaked him up.
But from one on, it just flies. Now, he can talk and play and we can have a conversation around his little world. I am loving my little boy very much these days and with him now being two and well on his way to three, I am just holding on tight and trying to enjoy it all.
Happy Birthday Little Owen! You make one very charming two year old.
Love always,
Momma

Putting Together Owen's New Train Table and all of its 175 pieces, Thank you Aunt Hannah!
It took a crew of about 8 adults and at 2 toddlers to get the job done. And 4 hours later....it was complete.
Thank you Uncle Charles and Aunt Rebecca! We couldn't have done it without you!
Fall Festivities
I am playing some serious catch-up, but The Butlers have been crazy busy these days and I have so much to tell!! So, I'm just going to take it from the top and start where I left off . . . .
Happy Halloween!!
This was our best Halloween, HANDS DOWN! Owen joined in the festivities and dressed up as a doctor this year. He was Dr. McDreamy from "Grey's Anatomy," complete with a stethoscope and knee knocker. We were able to hit the zoo on Saturday and rounded off the weekend with some good old fashioned pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating.
Last year we only hit about three houses, but Owen was a real trick-or-treater this year. We made the full loop of our subdivision and he hit almost every house. He loved ringing the doorbell and he had the cutest "Trick or Treat" expression for every greeter.
He got a lot of goodies and sure made one very handsome little doctor. Here are some pictures of Owen joining in some Halloween fun!
