Baby Needs A New Pair of Shoes- May 2012

With Emery on the move, it was time to take her and get her some new shoes.  We went to Stride Rite and picked out the sweetest little pink and white shoes, perfect for a little girl.  She was very amused with the process and the lady that helped us was so great!  We had such a great time and enjoyed watching her in her new shoes.  She thought she was really something!

April Days

Besides Easter and all the fun that spring brings our way, we enjoyed some fun with one of Wade's favorite childhood toys that Owen dug up.  We've had this robot since Owen was a baby and he has always wanted it in his bedroom.  Owen loves telling that it was Wade's when he was a little boy.  He likes thinking about his Daddy being little and that somehow he was just like him.  He says they love all the same things and declares blue as their favorite color, as if it doesn't belong to anyone else in the whole world.

They worked and worked to get that thing running again, which even included a trip to the Dollar Store to get fresh batteries.  It doesn't get much cuter than this if you asked me and I believe that even Wade enjoyed digging that old robot up.  It was like a time capsule with memories of what used to be.  What I wouldn't have given to see that little robot light up and go for the both of them.  It would have thrilled me to death.  If nothing else, it gave us something to do on a Friday night and brought a little thrill to our imagination.

Emery began taking her first steps at almost ten months old. She also grew enough hair for her first hairbow, which is something I had been dreaming about and worthy to mention as well.  She has new days ahead of her and I can only imagine where her feet will lead her.

Owen's Staples

Owen shook things up a bit when he had a bad fall and busted his head open landing us in the ER in the middle of the night.  There is just nothing quite like holding your begging and pleading child down while the doctor staples their head closed. Definitely not one of my favorite memories, but certainly one I'll never forget.  However, on the bright side, Owen was pretty excited to have them taken out. He had decided that it would be pretty cool to have the doctor put his staples in a jar, which he provided, and take them to school for show and tell.

I was pretty impressed with his enthusiasm, although Wade and I were dreading knowing what lay ahead to get the little boogers out.  All in all, with a few tears and a reminder of the great reward of show and tell, he made it through.  So thankful that he still has a head and that it wasn't anything more serious than just staples.  I am hoping that this is no indication of what lies ahead for him and that he will steer clear from the emergency room and make it through life, with all limbs and everything still attached and in the right places.  Although, I'm sure boys will be boys and this will not be our last run in with danger.

His jar awaits some company . . . .

Easter

Easter weekend kicked off with Memaw and Pepaw coming for a visit.  There was a lot special memories made especially being Emery's first Easter.  We played outside, colored eggs, hunted for eggs, waited for the Bunny, and had a great time just being together as a family.  These are the days you wait your whole life for and there is nothing sweeter than the sounds your family fill your home with.  My two little bunnies make these kinds of days the best!
